School of Slow: Book Club - Thursday August 13th

Inspired by the great European salons of the 17th and 18th centuries, the School of Slow: Book Club brings people together around one carefully chosen book - not to analyze every chapter, but to explore the larger ideas it inspires.

Hosted by Alyssa Beltempo and Larissa Beznaczuk-Smyrnew, the evening combines a guided thoughtful conversation, beautiful surroundings, curated wines, and exceptional food in an intimate setting.

This is an evening for connection and open minds.

THE BOOK: Strangers - A Memoir of Marriage, by Belle Burden

THE MENU: Inspired by the book's Manhattan and Martha's Vineyard summer settings; enjoy wines from Byward Wine Market and a generous grazing spread

TIME and LOCATION: 6:30-8:30PM at LOLLO (60 George Street)

PRICE: $125 (includes generous grazing spread, three wine pairings (4oz.each), sparkling water and guided conversation)

WHO: We are limiting this group to 16 people to encourage candid conversations and to offer everyone a chance to participate. 

WHAT IS SCHOOL OF SLOW? After 10+ years in the slow and sustainable fashion space, Alyssa realized that the philosophy of quality over quantity and finding joy in less reaches far beyond the closet. This is her first endeavour to broaden the experience of a slow fashion mindset into something we all love to do - chat amongst a group of amazing women and eating and drinking well. 

Cancellation Policy

With only 16 seats available, each reservation is important. We understand that plans can change, so cancellations made 3 or more days before the event will receive a full refund. Unfortunately, cancellations made within 3 days of the event are non-refundable, as it's often difficult to fill seats on short notice. If you're unable to attend, you're welcome to transfer your reservation to a friend or family member - just let us know their name before the event.
