Spring Style With Nordstrom

Sometimes it takes a shopping trip for Spring clothes to make the weather turn. Or a massive shift in the angle of our planet in relation to the sun. I believe the former because it means I get to tell you a story about a recent event and subsequent shopping trip at Nordstrom!

Myself and some fellow stylish folks were treated to a morning at Nordstrom which included a delicious brunch (which was of course, documented on stylish iPhones in order to prove it’s deliciousness), a little beauty sesh with their fabulous makeup artists and of course – a romp around the store picking out some outfits and goodies. I am not going to lie – similar to their well-attended and uber successful opening gala; Nordstrom executes their events with flair and an unmatched creative energy. I truly had a blast and went back for more. Since you might have seen most of the bloggers’ photos on social media, I thought it would be fun to show some behind the scenes and a couple of extra Spring pieces that needed a little bit of the spotlight.

I never wear dresses, so when I am let loose in a selection of top designer picks, I grabbed this beautifully embroidered Alice & Olivia dress and paired it with – obviously – a pair of Valentinos. Since more is more this Spring, I added a blue bag and some outrageously mod sunnies.

Before this picture was taken however, I was treated to some quick touch ups by one of Nordstrom’s makeup artists – I don’t normally wear a lot of makeup, so was very tentative when getting in that chair … but got out of it feeling great.

Nordstrom’s PR guru, Tianna, asked if I wouldn’t mind lying on the ground for this shot – of course not!! So fun – I tried this at home once, but the result was really not the same …

I had no flower wall or amazing designer shoes … so was so happy this shot turned out beautifully!

I created a second look that was a bit more my speed. This off the shoulder top is bananas – a sleeker take on a trend that is more bohemian … I paired it with an Alice & Olivia button down and of course – denim. Manolos topped the look off with an unexpected jolt of colour.

I found a couple of other pieces that are definitely worth mentioning this season. A pair of skinny ripped Current Elliott jeans caught my eye, and so did this gorgeous patchwork Chloe bag – just the right amount of saddle chic.

Of course after the event I went back – so glad I found this button down, which has been added to my already large family of button downs … but I love the texture and pinstripe detail.

Finally, I couldn’t leave without a photo of my forever fashion love … shoes. It was a treat to get to wear these iconic Manolos, and to go home with a sweet little polaroid to remember such a fun morning.

A huge thanks to Nordstrom for having me at this event and allowing me to get a feel for a very beautiful Spring collection.

For those of you who are into beauty; Nordstrom is hosting a Spring Beauty Trend Week (yours truly will need to attend given my lack of beauty knowledge) from May 1 – May 7, where you can take advantage of their pro team of make-up artists and walk away with a free gift when you make a purchase.

Happy Spring shopping!
