If you watch my Youtube, or have ever had a general conversation with me, you’ll know that one thing I am not minimalist about is footwear. I’m sorry if i’ve deceived you, but I’m a firm believer that quality footwear is the foundation of a sustainable capsule/curated closet. Without getting Kardashian-excessive, I think it’s important to have a good selection of shoes in your wardrobe.
Which is why I’m really excited that Poppy Barley is coming to Ottawa for a two day pop up event at Vincent – that’s right everybody, Poppy Barley is coming to Ottawa on March 12-13 so you can try on their incredible shoes and go home with a pair. Because once you try them on it will be hard not to. Make sure you book an appointment to get the full measurement experience.

Here’s why:
Poppy Barley believes luxury footwear should be accessible to everybody and takes a holistic approach to deliver on this mandate. The first company in North America to offer custom luxury footwear online, Poppy Barley creates timeless, on-point footwear that was made to be worn season after season, after season.

Poppy Barley gets that high markups don’t necessarily mean high quality, but that artisanal craftsmanship, fair wages, positive working conditions, and transparent manufacturing does.

Since acquiring my first pair last fall, here are some brief thoughts on my experience with their ethical footwear:
- They feel like slippers or a brand new running shoe with awesome cushioning and support so you can run around in them all day long. And still, look fabulous.
- They’re timeless and have great longevity from both a quality and aesthetic perspective.
- The silhouettes are classic so you don’t have to worry about not being able to wear them in a few years’ time.
Whether you’re able to book an appointment or not (time slots filled up fast last time), get yourself to Vincent on the 12th or 13th of March – I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Huge thanks to Poppy Barley for letting me be a part of your experience in Ottawa and to the fab girls at Vincent for dressing me up in these awesome looks to go with my new Poppy Barley loafers!
