Guys! I’m on Youtube! I’ll post a new slow fashion / sustainable style video every Sunday. If you haven’t yet, subscribe to my channel so you can find out how to be a more conscious consumer, spend less, and still look stylish on the daily. You can subscribe here!
I’m not going to lie, I am SO proud of my grade 2 level editing skills since I’m a technical disaster – but I’d love to hear your thoughts and comments.
So – this week, I went over 5 tips to inject your own personal style into a capsule closet or minimalist wardrobe. Don’t worry, it’s not all basics and neutrals
1 – Add colour: keep neutrals as your base and pick a few accent colours to build a cohesive palette in your closet.
2 – Add animal print: Go as wild or as subtle as you like. Animal print is surprisingly versatile and acts as a neutral (just make sure it’s in it’s natural colour!)
3 – Accessorize: Be more liberal with wearing and collecting accessories. They have more wear power than garments.
4 – Texture: Look for neutral and basic pieces with interesting texture, sequins, leather, fuzzy furs (preferably ethically sourced, cruelty-free, or even better vintage or second hand), and metallic is great.
5 – Print: Stick to classic prints like stripes, plaids and polka dots in neutral hues to add some playfulness to a basic look.
