Everybody’s doing it. Whether or not you still adhere to the old fashion adage of “no white after labour day” it is hard to ignore the blatant rebellion against this “rule” by fashion bloggers and celebrities alike. The trendy non-hue was a hit this past spring and summer, perhaps so much so that none of us can get enough of it. And why not? It makes brings out our tan, pairs wonderfully with almost everything and when worn with nude heels can make our legs look longer.
When a lovely and very fashionable neighbour of mine let me borrow her white Celine wedges (THE shoe of the summer) I just had to take them out for a little spin. And what better way than to figure out how to incorporate these lovelies into a work-appropriate ensemble? I wore them with some cropped pants and a blouse – a silhouette that can work in a multitude of combinations and fabrics. A black belt and plaid tote make it more appropriate for transitional dressing, or a navy blazer over the whole ensemble could easily accommodate mother nature’s tendency towards a bi-polar attitude.
Top: Equipment // Pants: Joe Fresh // Shoes: Celine (borrowed from my lovely neighbour) // Necklace: vintage // Watch: Technomarine // Bracelets: Josh and Pandora // Ring: Pandora // Earrings: vintage // Belt: vintage // Big thank you to Lisanne for taking photos, Karen for the amazing shoes and Chloe for being the best puppy model
In the absence of said navy blazer, I added a really cute dog.
What do you think? Are you going to be wearing white this September?
